Research Involvement
My research involves the development of high resolution PET imaging techniques. The primary focus is on the developments of novel PET detectors and system suitable for imaging of small laboratory animals. To provide quantitative ../images, various data correction techniques are also investigated. The image reconstruction algorithm is another area of research that improve image resolution and quality with software. Multi-modality imaging that combines PET with CT or MRI to provide both functional and anatomical information has gain its popularity in clinical applications and is now ported into the small animal imaging research. The instruments and techniques developed have been applied to study new radiopharmaceuticals developed within the department, and to many collaborative projects that study human disease with transgenic mice and rats.
